The Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT) has announced lane closures on DuSable Lake Shore Drive beginning Monday, February 26. The closure will occur after the morning rush and will affect one lane in each direction between Randolph Street and Grand Avenue. This measure is expected to last until Memorial Day, with additional lane closures during off-peak hours.
The lane closures are necessary for ongoing repairs to the DuSable Lake Shore Drive Bridge and viaduct network over the Ogden Slip. Ramp closures on the lower level of DuSable Lake Shore Drive remain in effect.
A specific ramp closure began on January 29, affecting southbound traffic from lower-level DuSable Lake Shore Drive to the upper level. This closure is part of a viaduct repair project involving expansion joint rehabilitation and pin and link plate replacement. The ramp is located south of the Chicago River and will remain closed until approximately mid-April.
Motorists affected by this closure are advised to detour via Lower Level DLSD to Intermediate Wacker Drive, then Intermediate Columbus Drive, followed by Intermediate Randolph Street, leading to Southbound Upper DLSD.
