Chicago Fire FC will face the New York Red Bulls at Sports Illustrated Stadium in Harrison, N.J. today. The match is set to begin at 6:30 p.m. CT and will be available globally on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV, and locally on wlsam.com in English and on Que Buena Fire via the Uforia App in Spanish.
Gregg Berhalter, Chicago Fire FC Director of Football and Head Coach, has announced the Starting XI for the upcoming match. Chicago Fire will make four changes to the lineup compared to recent encounters with Vancouver Whitecaps FC and CF Montréal.
Carlos Terán will replace Jack Elliott in defense, marking his return to the starting position since the first match of the season. Sam Rogers will continue as his partner in center back, maintaining his consistent presence for the sixth consecutive game. Justin Reynolds will take Leonardo Barroso’s spot at right back, marking Reynolds’ first start this year. He will be positioned opposite left back Andrew Gutman, another Fire Academy graduate.
Kellyn Acosta will lead the team as captain, partnering with Sergio Oregel, Jr., a dependable midfielder who has participated in every match this year. Rominigue Kouamé will make his first start after appearing in two consecutive games and will seek to make a notable impact. The attacking line will include Jonathan Bamba, Hugo Cuypers, and Philip Zinckernagel, aiming to continue their strong performances. Zinckernagel will pursue a third successive goal, Cuypers is on track for his sixth goal in six matches, and Bamba aims to extend his assist tally.
Players sidelined due to injuries include Leonardo Barroso, Jonathan Dean, Chase Gasper, Brian Gutiérrez, and David Poreba, while Chris Mueller is out for unspecified reasons. The bench will include a mix of goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders, and forward Tom Barlow.
