City of Chicago Community Development Commission met March 12. 

Here is the minutes as provided by the commission:

I. ROLL CALL OF COMMISSIONERS

      Chairman Jorge Perez called the meeting to order at 1:06 p.m. and then undertook a roll call to establish the presence of a quorum.

II. APPROVE MINUTES OF THE FEBRUARY 5TH AND FEBRUARY 19TH MEETINGS

      Motioned by Thomas, seconded by Newsome. Voice vote, all yeas.

III. NEW BUSINESS

      A. CENTRAL WEST TIF REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT AREA (WARD 27)

            Request authority to advertise the Department of Housing’s intention to enter into a negotiated sale with Mr. Bruce Ross for the disposition of the property located at 2019 W. Washington Boulevard in the Central West Tax Increment Financing Redevelopment Project Area, to request alternative proposals, and to approve the sale of the property to Mr. Bruce Ross if no responsive alternative proposals are received.

            Motioned by Butler, seconded by Newsome. Approved 7-0. Yeas: Buford, Butler, Cepeda, Newsome, Rhodes, Thomas and Perez. Reifman not present.

      B. CENTRAL WEST TIF REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT AREA (WARD 27)

            Request authority to advertise the Department of Housing’s intention to enter into a negotiated sale with Franklin Holdings, LLC – 28th Series for the disposition of the property located at 2021-23 W. Washington Boulevard in the Central West Tax Increment Financing Redevelopment Project Area, to request alternative proposals, and to approve the sale of the property to Franklin Holdings, LLC – 28th Series if no responsive alternative proposals are received.

            Motioned by Thomas, seconded by Buford. Approved 7-0. Yeas: Buford, Butler, Cepeda, Newsome, Rhodes, Thomas and Perez. Reifman not present.

      C. MIDWEST TIF REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT AREA (WARD 27)

            Request authority to advertise the Department of Planning and Development’s intention to enter into a negotiated sale with Herban Produce, NFP for the disposition of the property located at 2840, 2852, 2910 and 2912 W. Van Buren Street in the Midwest Tax Increment Financing Redevelopment Project Area, to request alternative proposals, and to approve the sale of the property to Herban Produce, NFP if no responsive alternative proposals are received.

            Motioned by Butler, seconded by Cepeda. Approved 7-0. Yeas: Buford, Butler, Cepeda, Newsome, Rhodes, Thomas and Perez. Reifman not present.

      D. DIVISION/HOMAN TIF REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT AREA (WARD 26)

             Request authority for the Department of Housing to negotiate a redevelopment agreement with Latin United Community Housing Association for redevelopment of the property located at 1152 N. Christiana Avenue in the Division/Homan Tax Increment Financing Redevelopment Project Area, and to recommend to the City Council of the City of Chicago the designation of Latin United Community Housing Association as Developer.

              Motioned by Newsome, seconded by Rhodes. Approved 7-0. Yeas: Buford, Butler, Newsome, Reifman, Rhodes, Thomas and Perez. Cepeda not present.

      E. ENGLEWOOD NEGHBORHOOD TIF REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT AREA (WARD 16)

             Request authority to advertise the Department of Planning and Development’s intention to enter into a negotiated sale with NeighborSpace for the disposition of the property located at 5822 S. Halsted Street, 1114-20 W. 59th Street and 1052-56 W. 59th Street in the Englewood Neighborhood Tax Increment Financing Redevelopment Project Area, to request alternative proposals, and to approve the sale to Neighbor Space if no responsive alternative proposals are received.

               Motioned by Butler, seconded by Newsome. Approved 8-0. Yeas: Buford, Butler, Cepeda, Newsome, Reifman, Rhodes, Thomas and Perez.
