Ted Dabrowski, candidate for governor of Illinois, emphasized the spirit of freedom at the 8th Annual Polish Independence 10K Run Sunday, Oct. 26, 2025, at Montrose Harbor, pledging to reduce the scope of government and return power to citizens.

"I'm proud to have taken part in the 8th Annual Polish Independence 10K Run," said Dabrowski, Illinois Gubernatorial Candidate. "In 1998, I jumped at the chance to take part in Poland's remarkable transformation from communist backwater to one of the most dynamic, rapidly-growing countries in the world. For nine years at Citibank Poland - Handlowy I found myself living and working feverishly alongside Poles who were determined to liberate the country's people and its economy from government's iron grip. As governor I pledge to do the same: shrink the size of government and return power to where it belongs: the people."

The Polish Independence 10K/5K Run/Walk is an annual event held at Chicago’s Montrose Harbor to commemorate Poland’s Independence Day on November 11. Dabrowski is a Republican candidate for governor with a background in policy research focused on state and local government issues. He previously served as vice president of policy at the Illinois Policy Institute and has experience in international finance. Dabrowski announced his gubernatorial campaign in September 2025, focusing on affordability, education, and public safety.

The Polish Independence RunForPoland event includes chip-timed races and community walks along Chicago's lakefront. It combines athleticism with cultural celebration, inviting participants from diverse backgrounds to engage in a day dedicated to heritage and health.
