The City of Chicago has announced the full lineup for Millennium Park’s 20th Anniversary Celebration, set to take place from July 18-21. The event, presented by Capital One, marks two decades since the park's official opening on July 16, 2004.

The four-day celebration will feature a variety of activities including concerts, dance performances, family and youth activities, and new public art installations. This special programming is in addition to Millennium Park’s regular summer events such as music festivals and film series.

“The dynamic and diverse range of artists and programs curated for the four-day 20th Anniversary Celebration reflect the best of our city’s world-class cultural sector,” said DCASE Commissioner Clinée Hedspeth. “We look forward to welcoming residents and visitors to the heart of downtown to join in this milestone anniversary.”

Highlights include performances by Fruko y Sus Tesos with Sonora Dinamita featuring Alfredo de la Fe on July 18. On July 19, Grant Park Orchestra will perform pieces by John Williams. The festivities on July 20 will include a birthday celebration hosted by Eli’s Cheesecake at Cloud Gate and an evening concert featuring Common with the Grant Park Orchestra followed by fireworks. The final day on July 21 will showcase house music performers including Steve "Silk" Hurley, CeCe Peniston, Robin S., Ann Nesby, Syleena Johnson, Chantay Savage, Keith Nunnally, Sharon Pass, and B. Lauren.

Dave Kucera from Capital One expressed his enthusiasm: “As a third generation Chicagoan...Capital One team and I are thrilled to celebrate the incredible impact of this iconic landmark on our city.”

New temporary public art installations by renowned Chicago artists will also be unveiled during the celebration.

The event is supported by various sponsors including Fry Foundation, Globetrotters Engineering, AllState among others. A detailed schedule is available at MillenniumPark.org.

Millennium Park is recognized as one of the top attractions in the Midwest and one of the most visited sites in the United States.
