The Chicago City Council has greenlighted the Chicago Department of Housing to allocate $5.5 million from Lincoln Avenue TIF funds. These funds will be used for the rehabilitation and minor property renovations at the Haven on Lincoln, a site previously known as the Diplomat Hotel located at 5230 N. Lincoln Ave.
This site will host a pilot program run by the Chicago Department of Public Health. The program's objective is to deliver behavioral health and housing support for individuals experiencing homelessness who have unmet physical and behavioral health needs.
The allocated funds will cover renovation costs in 2025, with the facility expected to commence operations in the third quarter of 2025.
