The Chicago City Council has sanctioned an amendment to an existing City Lots for Working Families (CL4WF) agreement, allowing a joint venture to acquire ten additional city-owned lots. The joint venture, formed by Joudeh Investments LLC and MKB Business Strategies LLC, will purchase the lots for $1 each. The project is intended for constructing single-family or two-unit homes. Under the provisions of the CL4WF program, the joint venture may benefit from waivers or reductions of certain permit fees.

Initially, in September 2021, the City Council approved an ordinance permitting the joint venture to develop eight homes on the west side. Following the approval, the City requested the joint venture to yield one lot for the creation of a memorial dedicated to Fred Hampton, resulting in the approval of a second ordinance in November 2022 to replace the ceded lot.

The lots described in the recent ordinance were part of the April 2024 round of ChiBlockBuilder.
