Chicago City Council approves amendment to land sale with Sunshine Gospel Ministries

An amendment has received approval for an existing land sale and redevelopment agreement involving CL4WF and Sunshine Gospel Ministries (SGM). This agreement is part of the United Power for Action and Justice (UPAJ) ordinance that was approved by the Chicago City Council in May 2024.

The amendment pertains to seven lots that were omitted from the Substitute UPAJ Ordinance. The removal was due to their incorrect classification as "Open Space" in the city's land database.

"An amendment has been approved for an existing CL4WF land sale and redevelopment agreement with Sunshine Gospel Ministries (SGM)."

"The seven (7) lots being requested in this memo were removed from the Substitute UPAJ Ordinance, as the City’s land database erroneously assigned the lots for 'Open Space.'"
