The Chicago Department of Housing (DOH) has received approval from the City Council for an ordinance concerning the San Miguel Apartments at 907 W Argyle. The approved measures include the sale and transfer of the property, forgiveness of $1.75 million in debt, and a modification to the income restrictions on the units.

With this decision, 53 affordable housing units will be preserved for at least 15 more years without requiring additional city funding. The ordinance allows for the transfer of ownership from Heartland Housing to Chicago Metro Housing Development Corporation.

San Miguel Apartments has provided affordable housing options to Chicago residents for over three decades.
