Homeowners in West Garfield Park, Tri-Taylor and Lawndale saw the highest effective tax rates on the West Side during the second part of 2018, according to an analysis by Local Government Services (LGIS), which publishes the Chicago City Wire.
With 40 of 41 precincts reporting, Cardona had 54.36 percent of the vote (3,378) to Santiago's 45.6 percent (2,836), according to the Chicago Board of Election Commissioners.
Incumbent Alderman Ariel E. Reboyras retained his 30th Ward post on Tuesday night with 51.92 percent of the votes (3,999) to challenger’s Jessica W. Gutierrez's 48.08 percent (3,703) with all 32 precincts reporting, according to the Chicago Board of Election Commissioners.
Incumbent Alderman Howard Brookins Jr. retained his 21st Ward post on Tuesday night with 53.16 percent of the votes (6,996) to challenger’s Marvin McNeil's 46.84 percent (6,165) with all 54 precincts reporting, according to the Chicago Board of Election Commissioners.
With 33 of 36 precincts reporting, Coleman had 66.70 percent of the vote (3,305) to Foulkes' 33.3 percent (1,650), according to the Chicago Board of Election Commissioners.
Incumbent Alderman Raymond A. Lopez retained his 15th Ward post on Tuesday night, bringing in 59,22 percent of the votes (2,994) to challenger’s Rafael "Rafa" Yanez's 40.78 percent (2,062) with all 24 precincts reporting, according to the Chicago Board of Election Commissioners.
Incumbent Alderman Roderick T. Sawyer retained his 6th Ward post on Tuesday night, bringing in 53.50 percent of the votes (5,794) to challenger’s Deborah A. Foster-Bonner's 46.5 percent (5,035) with 47 of 48 precincts reporting, according to the Chicago Board of Election Commissioners.
Incumbent Alderman Michele Smith retained her 43rd Ward post on Tuesday night, bringing in 53.70 percent of the votes (6,961) to challenger’s Derek Lindblom’s 46.30 percent (6,001) with 45 of 46 precincts reporting, according to the Chicago Board of Election Commissioners.
